Legal
Privacy Policy
We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy informs you which data we process for which purpose — in accordance with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.
1. Controller
Rohner Engineering GmbH
Uetlibergstrasse 39, 8902 Urdorf, Switzerland
Email: rop@rohner-engineering.ch
2. Principles of data processing
We process personal data in accordance with the principles of good faith, purpose limitation, proportionality, accuracy and data security. We only collect data that you actively provide to us via the contact form, by email or by phone — as well as server log data that is technically required (e.g. IP address, user agent) to operate and secure the website.
3. Enquiry and quotation form
If you contact us via the enquiry or quotation form, we store your details (name, company, contact information, message, and any documents uploaded) to process your enquiry, for any follow-up questions and for the preparation of a quotation. The legal basis is your consent as well as the initiation of a contract. The data is not passed on to uninvolved third parties.
4. Processors & hosting
Services and technologies actually used:
- Hosting and database: a technical service provider with servers located in the EU/Switzerland. Form submissions and technically necessary server logs are processed.
- File uploads: files submitted via the enquiry form (PDF, JPG, PNG, DWG, DXF) are transmitted encrypted and stored with the same service provider.
- Map display: OpenStreetMap on the contact page — when the page is loaded, a connection is established to OpenStreetMap servers and your IP address is transmitted to them.
- Fonts: served locally from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any external CDN.
- Local storage: a single entry in your browser's local storage stores your chosen appearance (light/dark mode). No cookies are set for advertising or analytics purposes.
Not used: analytics and tracking services (no Google Analytics), advertising networks, social media plugins, captcha services and external content delivery networks.
5. Retention period
We store your data only for as long as necessary to process your request or as required by statutory retention periods (in particular Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations, 10 years for business-relevant documents). Afterwards, the data is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
You have the right at any time to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, withdrawal of any consent given, and data portability. Please contact us at the address given above. You may also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
7. Data security
Form data and uploads are transmitted encrypted (TLS/HTTPS). We take state-of-the-art technical and organisational measures to protect your data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
8. Changes
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time in order to adapt it to changed legal requirements or changes to our services. The version published on this page applies.
